 Beaufort Memorial Hospital, opened in 1944, is licensed for 197 beds. It is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and boasts a quality medical staff of more than 150 board-certified physicians.
Over the years, the community has grown and the hospital has evolved from a small-town hospital with limited services to a high-quality regional referral center. We are also affiliated with Duke University Medical Center for our heart and cancer programs. Beaufort Memorial Hospital is a public, not-for-profit hospital, with a Board of Trustees approved by the Beaufort County Council.
Beaufort Memorial Hospital is situated on the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway and is one of the few hospitals in the country with its own boat dock.
